Our visit to Storfjord was incredible. The room was comfortable and cozy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, and the grounds are very quiet and calm. Amazing views all around. If you want a very luxurious experience, they are a great option.

We had a wonderful time staying 3 nights in the Storfjord hotel.|Property is beautifully designed, every shared space and our room were absolutely top notch. Food was excellent, we had breakfasts and dinners at the hotel restaurant and everything we ate comes highly recommended!||The real star of the hotel are staff members. Every single person we interacted with was extremely kind and professional.

The Storjford hotel was a gem!!! The service was incredible- every member of the staff was kind, attentive, warm and extremely professional. They really cared to make it the best experience for us! ||The hotel is absolutely gorgeous- so many spaces to hang out. We spent nights reading or playing games in the cozy library and sipped hot chocolate (the best hot chocolate ever!!!) overlooking the fjord. ||The food was really delicious- the halloumi salad for lunch and the duck for dinner were highlights! Would 100% recommend this place!!

The hotel is in a pleasant location on Storfjord. The bedrooms are nice, with good views. The dining room and the two sitting rooms in the main building are pleasant too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our main negative about the hotel was dining. The food was of a good quality, so there is no issue with that. The service was very slow, we often waited in excess of 30 minutes between courses. I’m not sure that was anything to do with the waiting staff but perhaps more to do with the kitchen? We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and ate in the restaurant all 5 nights. The hotel is in a fairly remote location so there weren’t any real alternatives. The weather wasn’t really good enough to go to the hotel BBQ or the dining by the fjord. The menu (see photo) was the same all 5 nights so the options were limited. It would have been better if the menu had changed at least once during our stay or if the hotel had offered a different “special” each night. It’s not that those criticisms spoiled our stay but rather a slightly more varied menu and a little less time between courses would have improved the experience.

We have just got back from our 4 night stay at Storfjord and had a wonderful time. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for a relaxing retreat with beautiful views. The hotel itself is warm and cosy with lots of nice places to sit in and outside. The food was superb and there were a good selection of drinks at the bar. I cannot recommend Storfjord enough for a relaxing trip in Norway.

We stayed in two country house hotels in Norway with the same ownership - the Storfjord and the Union Oye. The surroundings at the Storfjord, while pretty and scenic enough, paled in comparison to the wild ruggedness of Oye. On the other hand, the hotel itself was much better than the Union. The Storfjord Hotel seems less like a sister of the Union Oye, and more like a wealthier, friendlier and younger distant cousin. From the welcoming tour at arrival with a delicious local birch cider to the flexibility displayed at meals, the Storfjord was very hospitable. The lavish breakfasts were outstanding, particularly the excellent croissants and homemade jam and the wonderful shrimp in dill sauce. Dinners were also delicious and the service was efficient and friendly. The views of the fjord and the mountains from the lawns are lovely, particularly at sunset. We enjoyed the sauna and our brief dip into the fjord from the hotel’s dock. The public rooms are comfortable and the fires kept lit. Our Superior fjord view room was small (but significantly larger and more comfortable than the deluxe room at Oye). Although Norway is very expensive, the Storfjord provides relatively good value compared to an American inn of its quality.

We had a wonderful stay at Storfjord Hotel, it was exactly what we were looking for. The setting is stunning, the facilities and rooms are the perfect combination of rustic chic and luxury, and the staff were all wonderfully attentive. The quality of the food was top notch.

We had an incredible stay. The staff was excellent we loved the diversity and expertise they had. The meals were very tasty and some of the best smoked trout I’ve ever had. The sommeliers were fun to order wines from.
