Stayed there 3 night to hike areas. Great hike of 19 km close drive from lodge. Nice biking to fjord. Very scenic. First dinner meal was too salty for us, do we asked chef to cut down on salt and he was very accommodating. Nice breakfast, nothing fancy. Baked bread excellent. |Just take care with some room door heights, very low.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We stayed 4 nights and delighted in every detail. The place is exquisite. Enormous care has been taken, from the outstanding service, to the beautifully renovated and historic buildings, to the delicious farm to table prepared meals. The sauna is also fantastic. One other thing we really enjoyed is the intimate nature of the place. Flåm is very overcrowded, while this hotel is in a fairly remote valley and the hotel itself has only a few rooms.

29.2 Aurland is a boutique hotel in the Flam area of Norway. Each room is different. We were in one of the older rooms. It was large and comfortable. The shower was tiny when compared to the size of the room.||We ate breakfast and dinner both nights we were here, and the food is excellent.||When we had outings that took us away from the hotel during lunch, they made a delicious takeaway lunch for us.||The hotel has a wood-fired sauna that is very relaxing.||The staff is uniformly helpful and friendly.||Two things to be aware of: Although there are no signs, if you use the hotel's EV chargers, you will be charged $35 no matter how much electricity you use. And although the staff in the restaurant offer you an aperitif before dinner, it is not included with the meal. It would be helpful for the hotel to make guests aware of these charges before they are incurred. ||I would definitely stay here agian.

Wonderful boutique hotel! My wife and I stayed for two nights in the middle of our trip through Norway. Our favorite activity was the rowing/hiking trip with Anders on the old Postage route. Dinners were fantastic at the farm to table restaurant. We stayed in the Liverpool room. It was spacious and creatively decorated. 5 stars!

What an amazing experience, a gorgeous piece of land. My family, ranging in age from 16 to 73, was all so happy and in awe of the majestic surroundings, the thoughtful and beautiful rooms and suites. The staff were kind, generous, and available for anything we needed or asked for. And the food - sublime. Bows to the chef. This place was so loved - the gardens were amazing, the vegetables - no words - the attention and care to the environment gave me hope and nourished my soul. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am so grateful to everyone who made our visit so peaceful and memorable.

We were really looking forward to this dinner. The reservation online was pretty easy. The restaurant is a part of an organic hotel. Everything they serve is grown in their farm and the fish is local. For the price range we all felt that the food failed to impress. The appetizer was tiny portion of a smoked fish (the menu always changes), the main dish was fish that was very mediocrely prepared and very plain. The dessert was just one kind. So there is a set menu of the day and absolutely no options or choices whatsoever. So if you don’t eat fish for example you would walk out hungry. I don’t think the menus are posted in advance. And I believe there is a cancellation charge. The service is pretty slow since I think they cook for everyone fresh from scratch. I believe they only have 1 seating a day from 7-9 pm. So everyone is seated and served at the same time. The service while impeccable and friendly still feels very over the top for what it is. Maybe compared to other restaurants in the area it’s a healthier option, but very overpriced in my opinion.

What a beautiful, idyllic place! The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, and the dinners were absolutely the best. So fresh, and all locally sourced from a gorgeous garden on the property. We highly recommend this great place!

When we arrived on the train in Flam, we were greeted by our driver and taken to the hotel. We were a party of three women and couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more thoroughly. We stayed in the Liverpool upper suite and the design touches and comforts were excellent. While this is an old goat barn that had some rustic touches, the design aspects, including drapes, pillows, lamps and bedding are all beautiful. We had ample space and were extremely comfortable - we felt the bedding was luxe. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, herbs and of course, waterfalls in the background. The air is so fresh! ||On our first day, Thomas took us for a hike to a nearby waterfall, and then biking to the fjord the next day for a kayaking excursion with a local outfitter. Thomas is a true outdoorsman. He is kind and extremely interesting to speak to. We enjoyed our time with him. Lastly, we had the best food of our entire vacation here. The breakfast with the fresh bread, eggs to order and local cheeses, etc. was very good. The dinners were sublime. You could taste how fresh the local fish and meat were, and the sauces and vegetables accompanying them were outstanding. They accommodated a gluten allergy well. The young chef really knows his craft. This is a top notch hotel and we would highly recommend it.
