Had a superb dining experience here! The fish and chips were absolutely delicious as the fish was really fresh. The deer stew and deer croquettes (special of the day) were soulful and had a rich depth of flavour.

Exceptional service from the staff and Gabriel! Highly recommend coming here if you’re staying nearby!

Bon restaurant, pratique pour manger le soir sur Aurland qui ne propose par beaucoup de restaurants. La cuisson est simple mais assez bonne, la terrasse couverte et chauffée avec vue sur le fjord est agréable. Il faut commander et se servir au bar mais le personnel est très sympa.
Les pizzas sont bonnes, j’ai pris un Lamb Sandwich excellent mais j’enlève une étoile pour la soupe de poisson qui était ultra piquante (je ne sais pas pourquoi) et pas très savoureuse.

Maybe the best place to eat in Aurland 🙂 I did not find another one. Nice drinks and beer, Illy coffee. The lamb was great. Good to know : they have gluten free pizza and buns for burgers. And you can't beat the view.

La décoration est typique d'un petit bistro proche de l'eau. Le personnel est très aimable, les prix sont parfaitement raisonnables, et le service est plutôt rapide.
L'ambiance est toutefois un peu bruyante (musique un peu forte).

Le choix de nourriture et boissons est bon. La nourriture était excellente. Nous avons complimenté la serveuse sur son excellent Fish and Chips, et elle nous a fièrement affirmé qu'ils pêchent et préparent le poisson eux-mêmes.

We were staying in a small Airbnb and decided to come down to try. We were so surprised how good it was! The pizza is a must try. The other guests meals also looked equally delicious and the vibe is cozy for a summer night. Adding English menu in case anyone needs it!

Das Restaurant punktet mit einer angenehmen Atmosphäre, nicht zuletzt wegen der hübschen Aussicht – zwar kein spektakuläres Panorama, aber dennoch ein schöner Rahmen für ein entspanntes Essen.

Kulinarisch blieb der Besuch allerdings hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Die Gerichte wirkten durchdacht präsentiert und sahen auf dem Teller ausgesprochen ansprechend aus. Leider konnte der Geschmack da nicht mithalten: Der Fisch im Fish and Chips war deutlich versalzen, während sowohl die Pommes als auch der Rentiereintopf kaum gewürzt waren und daher recht blass wirkten. Besonders beim Wildgericht hätte man sich mehr Tiefe und Raffinesse erhofft.

Der Service war ebenso ernüchternd. Dass man nicht am Tisch bestellen konnte, empfand ich bei den aufgerufenen Preisen als wenig gastfreundlich. Immerhin: Das Wasser gab es kostenlos – wie überall in Norwegen. Ein nettes Detail, das den insgesamt eher durchschnittlichen Eindruck aber kaum aufwiegt.

We ended up eating at Vangsgaarden GastroPub simply because we had no other option, but I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere is rustic and the staff was friendly — although I did ask for water twice and it never arrived, which was a bit of a letdown.

The food was good. We had the fish and chips — the fish was excellent, both in quality and in the crispness. Unfortunately, the fries were likely frozen and didn’t match the same standard. The reindeer stew, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it.

Found live worms in my burger. Absolutely unacceptable hygiene. Staff was indifferent, no proper apology or compensation. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
