En deilig, annerledes overnatting i gammelt, men moderne, rom. Utrolig god hjemmelaget mat, hvor man nesten hadde følelesen av å være på besøk hos vertskapet. Super omvisning og fortelling om gårdens historie. Kjør litt av E6 og nyt denne flotte overnattingsmuligheten.

I stayed at Sygard Grytting this past weekend with my husband and our 2 year old. This was a really memorable experience for our family. We stayed at the Karstugu cabin, and it was perfect for our family with a kitchen, dining area, cozy chairs to sit in, and the possibility to light a fire on a rainy day.

This is a very child friendly place. Our hosts provided us with a travel crib, and there were all kinds of toys and swings and a slide for our kid to play with. The farm animals of course brought a lot of joy.

Our hosts were warm and very helpful. We really felt like they wanted us to have a good stay at Sygard Grytting. I look forward to coming back with friends someday.

Staying at Stgard Grytting was one of the most heartwarming and unforgettable experiences of my journey. This remarkable guesthouse, run by the same family for an astounding 17 generations, is a true gem filled with history, soul, and sincere hospitality.

From the very first moment, the hosts make you feel not like a guest, but like a part of their extended family. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine warmth create an atmosphere that’s rare and deeply comforting.

One of the highlights of my stay was the shared meals. Breakfast and dinner are served at a long communal table, where guests — pilgrims and travelers from all walks of life — come together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. It’s a beautiful and meaningful part of the experience that turns strangers into friends.

The food is simply outstanding. Prepared with love by the mother of the family, every dish is hearty, homemade, and delicious — the kind of cooking that makes you feel completely at home. She truly has golden hands!

Adding even more charm to the place are the animals that live on the property — well-cared-for and clearly loved. You can sense the compassion this family has not only for their guests, but for all living beings.

Stgard Grytting is so much more than just a place to sleep. It’s a sanctuary of tradition, warmth, and human connection. I feel incredibly grateful to have stayed here, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking not only a restful night — but a stay to remember.

Vi spiste middag på Sygard-Grytting. Vi ble vennlig mottatt av vertskapet på tunet. Fikk servert en aperitiff i fantastiske omgivelser. Alt er velstelt og hyggelig. Signal om middag ble innledet av en jente som spilte vakkert på hardingfele. Strålende mat og service! Stedet kan anbefales på det sterkeste!

Et nydelig velholdt tun m bygninger fra 1500-tallet og oppover. Vennlig vertskap som skaper en autentisk atmosfære med nydelig kortreist mat og som gir oss et sjenerøst innblikk i livet da og nå 👌

Sehr schöner historischer Bauernhof. Übernachten wie vor 200 Jahren im alten Betten. Alles vorhanden, aber natürlich muss man vorher selbst einkaufen um selbst vorzusorgen. Für jeden Pilger ein Muss dahin zu gehen.

I loved everything about this fantastic place. Just imagine that one of the buildings is more than 700 years old and still looks so amazing. The food was the best that I ever tasted in this part of the world. You should NOT miss going here❤️
