Main hotel in Flam, only 34 rooms. Staff exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Rooms very comfortable. Good breakfast. Location cannot be beaten. Go for a room overlooking the river rather than the cruise ship terminal otherwise your view could be blocked by a massive cruise ship.

We were very happy with our stay while in Flam. We were there for one night having arrived by train and then taking the ferry to Bergen. We reserved a room with a view and were very impressed with the view (no cruise ship while we visited) and the very nice balcony. The room size was fine for us. We appreciated the counter service food option. The on site Aegir Microbrewery was outstanding (see my review of the restaurant for the highlights). Overall, I would definitely stay here again if I return to Flam.

The location of this hotel makes it! It is a 2 minute walk from the train and 1 minute walk from the ferry. We stayed in a family suite and it was great. They have a great covered area with tables to hang out grab a drink and enjoy the views. There is also great selection of food trucks and gift shops in town that is worth checking out.

The hotel has breakfast that was great as well.

Booked a twin room in this hotel and was not disappointed. Lovely friendly greeting on arrival and the gentleman on reception kindly assisted with booking a dinner reservation for us that evening. The room was bigger than expected and just oozing with charm. We had beautiful weather and were able to take advantage of the little balcony overlooking the fjord - there were blankets available if required. Being able to open the door and enjoy the fresh air and peace was just bliss. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and there was plenty of choice - really good coffee too! Room was spotlessly clean. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or stay again.

La struttura è in una posizione potenzialmente splendida, ma l’esperienza complessiva è stata deludente. Nella nostra camera c’era un odore non gradevole e i tessuti di poltrone e tende davano chiaramente l’idea di essere poco puliti. Avevamo scelto questo hotel proprio per la vista sul fiordo, ma la presenza costante di enormi navi da crociera davanti alla finestra ha completamente tolto fascino al panorama.||Anche la colazione è stata sotto le aspettative: scelta limitata e qualità mediocre, servita anch’essa con vista… nave da crociera. Considerato il prezzo piuttosto alto per una notte, ci aspettavamo uno standard decisamente migliore sia per la camera che per l’esperienza complessiva.

Abbiamo prenotato in questa struttura perché era l'unica rimasta, ad un prezzo alto anche per la Norvegia.
La stanza era al pianoterra, affacciava sul parcheggio ed era davvero angusta.
La pulizia lasciava a desiderare (nocciolina sul pavimento) e mancava il caffè per la Nespresso.
Il personale risponde alle richieste ma non fa niente di più che sfruttare la posizione che, per altro, vede dal lato opposto l'attracco delle navi da crociera...

I was here for one night with a small group tour in late May and I could have stayed forever. This is an incredibly beautiful spot, and the view from my room facing the fjord is now one of my screensavers. Staff here are very friendly and efficient. The room was very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. I loved this hotel!

I don't typically write poor reviews, but I feel that others should be warned in this case. If you want to be in the heart of activity while in Flam (picture 3000 - 6000 cruise passengers right in front) and you are okay gambling on the room type, this hotel may work for you but know what you are getting into. ||While the hotel site indicates that each room has a fjord view, we were placed in a 1st floor room on the "other side" of the hotel (backside of the main picture) that I would say has a minimal/partial fjord view but more of a parking lot view (i.e., picture cars driving and parking right outside your window). The hotel charges the same for all the rooms and in this case over 4000 NOK/night. While we were registered for 3 guests and were told we couldn't change rooms because our room was set up for 3 guests. The room was not remotely ready for 3 people. The rooms are tiny and I had to ask for linens and set up the pullout bed for our son. There weren't even 3 sets of towels. The sole staff member at check-in, Marie, was apologetic, very kind and lovely, but her hands were tied. With no alternatives, we stayed in that room for the first night and then were able to pack all our things to move to storage and eventually move to a different room for the 2nd night - one that actually overlooked the fjord and had a third sleeping space ready.||I spoke to the manager before check-out (her first availability) who proceeded to try to tell me I only booked for 2 people (which we together confirmed was incorrect) and then told me that no rooms are guaranteed. I urged her and other management to differentiate pricing based on room location, size, type, etc. I believe she said she was looking into that but only offered us 500 NOK for our troubles and didn't even apologize. The staff were helpful and apologized for our inconvenience but Jannike was stoic and not budging for service recovery or anything else.
