Utrolig koselig sted. Har vært her på hundenes Kafe Kan Skje. Hvor man kan komme med sin hund, uansett oppførsel, og øve på å være i en café aktig setting. Hver tirsdag fra 18-19. Rimelig nystartet konsept, så det hadde vært flott med flere hunder, og mennesker på disse tirsdagene🙂

Rural art residency (nearby town of Kongsvinger costs about 100,000 NOK ($100) to get to one way by taxi). Beautiful forest scenery. Small village meaning if you are an outsider you will stick out. Very safe, though isolated. The studio/building is cozy, warm, and the kitchen is easy to use. The walls in the sleeping area are thin so you will hear the person in the next room snoring or turning over in bed. The nearby grocery store in walking distance does not have many options and if you don’t know how to cook you may be frustrated, but for me it was not an issue. Gitte was fun to talk to and and a very interesting person. I recommend this residency for adventurous people who are not intimidated by being alone in the woods.

Had a wonderful and productive stay at Atelier Austmarka. There is no better way to get to know the Norwegian landscape. It is located near a lot of rich and interesting history. A historic trail is right outside the door, and the city of Kongsvinger, only a bus ride away, is filled with museums and a fortress.
The hostess is very encouraging and helpful. They really believe in making the most of your stay while also showing a clear respect for your time and privacy. The town of Austmarka is very rural, beautiful, and friendly. I miss it dearly.

Staying in Atelier Austmarka was very pleasant and inspiring. The quet atmosphere of the studio and it's surroundings can help developing artistic ideas and allow different creative individuals to focus on their work. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the fellow artists were a nice company. I was very glad to get the opportunity to stay and work in Austmarka.
